Chengalpattu district: 6th on the Red Alert List: Rs. 2.10 Crores allotted for prevention activities!

So far, 45 persons have been confirmed with coronavirus in the Chengalpattu districts and they are being treated at the Chennai Government hospitals.

Chengalpattu has occupied he 6th place in the list (Red Alert) of the descending orders of the Tamil Nadu Districts with maximum affected.

So, several places have been sealed preventing public movement. As a 1st Phase, a fund of Rs. 2.10 Crores has been allotted for undertaking the preventive activities against the raging coronavirus pandemic.

Accordingly, the 8 Taluks in Chengalpattu District have been allotted Rs. 1.25 Lakhs each. The town administrations of Maraimalai Nagar, Chengalpattu, Madhranthagam, Pallavaram, Tambaram, Sembakkam, Pammal, and Anagaputhur have bee allotted Rs. 3.5 Lakhs each. The 12 city administrations of Mamallapuram, Idaikkazhinadu, Nandhivaram, Guduvanchery, Thiruporur, Perrkkangaranai, Perungalathur, Thiruneermalai, Karunkuzhi, Madambakkam, Chitlapakkam, Achirupakkam have been allotted Rs. 2.5 Lakhs each.

The 8 development circles, Madhuranthagam, Achirupakkam, Sithamur, Kattankulathur, Thirukkazhukkundram, Thiruporur, and St. Thomas Mount have been allotted Rs. 2 Lakhs each.

The District administration has made the allotments as above in the 1st Phase.

This fund allotted above must be utilized for the preventive activity against infection in the respective areas, distribution of face masks, awareness leaflets (printing and distribution), and disinfectants procurement, and also to procure equipment/kits for disaster management to form the protection zone.

The Chengalpattu district administration has informed that the funds required fort he 2nd Phase will be given to the respective administration/circle development officers.
