The State Government of Tamil Nadu has initiated activities on a war-footing to ensure that all essential food items are easily available and accessible to the public!
Giving due consideration to the welfare of the agriculturists in this situation, if they encounter any difficulties/hardships while taking their produce from the crops to the market for selling, they may contact the Assistant Director of the District Agriculture Department.

The present system of charging the agriculturists for storing their produce in air-conditioned godowns is temporarily stopped until 30th April.
In order to ensure that the public gets easy and affordable access to buy vegetables and fruits and at the same time to ensure that the agriculturists to get their fair price, the Farm Produce Companies will be given loans up to Rs. 10 Lakhs in order that they can buy the product directly from the farmers/agriculturists.
An additional 500 mobile sales-vehicles of the State government Horticultural Department will be deployed in order to facilitate the vegetables and fruits grown by the Cooperative Farmers to be sold to the urban residents.
