To geographically map people with fever, Greater Chennai Corporation or GCC has developed an app. This is the first time in India this technology would be used.
The name of this app is GCC Corona Monitoring and it is clear that this app would map people in home quarantine and those areas where crowd gathers against social distancing norms. The official sources have confirmed that this app would be launched within a week of time. Import ant information collected is this app has been developed by a team of volunteers belonging Mr. Cooper.
Point is in India most civic bodies have been monitoring only those in home quarantine and there are many with fever symptoms in an area. Currently, people stay in their own houses and they do not know if a person next door has got fever or not. Community spreading would be possible by this. This was according to Mr. Azhagu Pandia Raja, research fellow with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. It was he who conceptualized the app for the GCC.
In the first step, clicking on the option in app must be done then photo of the house for location is taken. By the app, the officials could identify clusters of people with fever symptoms and send health workers. GCC Corona Monitoring app geo-tags persons and would help GCC to channelize more resources. It is now said that over 1000 have downloaded this app and marked themselves.
