GCC: Applications can be made to set shops in Marina Beach

Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has announced that those who are interested in setting up shops in Marina Beach can apply.
The Chennai High Court has ordered that Marina Beach and the Pattinappakkam (Foreshore Estate) Loop Road must be renovated immediately.
Accordingly, the shops located in Marina Beach are to be streamlined. With the 1300 traders here having received their Identity Cards, the High Court had ordered that only 1300 traders must be allowed to set shops.
In this situation, GCC has announced that those interested in setting up shops in Marina Beach can apply from 3rd April.
Out of the 900 shops to be set up, 600 shops will be reserved for the traders who already have set up shops here.
40% of the shops will be reserved for those who intend freshly setting their shops.
The application form and the details regarding Rules & Regulations, Sales Charges, Sales time, the monthly rent, penalty, and other related detail have been uploaded on the website: www.chennaicorporation.gov.in.
Filled applications can be submitted from 10th April to 15th April.
The traders will be selected based on a lucky draw from the list applicants. GCC has announced that the date of releasing the certificates will be announced later.
