State Department of School Education explaining doubts regarding cancellation of Pongal holidays!

The Department of School Education of the Tamil Nadu State Government has offered a detailed explanation regarding doubts raised whether Pongal holidays are being cancelled for the schools.

Thus, the doubts among the students and parents whether Pongal holidays have been cancelled in order to watch/listen to the Prime Minister�s speech/address have been clarified the department of School Education.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been participating in the conversation with students, teachers, and parents known as �Pariksha ye Charcha� since the year 2018. This talk show will cover the questions/issues regarding the examinations and the associated mental stress. Thus, this talk show is set to be conducted for the 3rd year this time during 2020.

A competition is being held for studying from 9th Standard to 12th Standard in this regard. The successful candidates can participate in the conversation session with the Prime Minister. The conversation will be about the examinations and the related mental stress. This conversation session with the Prime Minister is scheduled on 16th January.

Meanwhile, information has been gathered that an order has been issued by the Director of School Education that the district officials must ensure that all students studying in 9th to 12th Standards must attend school on the Pongal Holiday on 16th January in order to watch/listen to the Prime Minister�s speech.

It was also gathered that the students MUST Compulsorily WATCH/LISTEN to the Prime Minister�s speech through Doordarshan or the YouTube Channel of the Central Ministry for Human Welfare.

The above decisions became an issue leading to objections. The was confusion among the students, parents, and teachers whether Pongal Holidays will be cancelled due to this!

In this situation, the State Government Ministry of School Education has issued a notification:

It has not been stressed that the students MUST attend school on 16th January to watch/listen to the Prime Minister�s speech. The students are free to watch this programme from wherever they are! However, instructions have been given to the school headmasters to make the necessary arrangements in case some students are interested in watching this programme at the school premises. So, it is clear that there is no cancellation of Pongal Holidays!
