Chandy asks Italian marine trial to be held in Kollam

The Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him to instill a special court in Kollam to try the Italian marines. He asked the sessions court in the town to be converted to a special court for the trial and demanded that the trial take place in Kollam itself, as the legal proceedings for the case began there. �The same court may be considered as the special court suggested by the Union Government for holding their trial�, he said.
The marines Massimiliano Lattore and Salvatore Girone have been accused of killing two Indian fishermen off the coast of Kerala.
