Tomorrow, the 31st January will be the very last day to implement the TRAI�s new rules for which all the 332 channels have fixed their respective rates.

Here are the facts you got to know in this regard

The first most expensive is the Star India which is followed by Zee network and Sony channels.

In the Zee groups, users get the maximum number of channels including news as well as entertainment channels.

Star India channels � there are totally 51 channels included in the Star India package of which 23 of them are priced Rs 19 each and just 5 of them are available for Re 1.

Zee Entertainment � there are 41 total count of Zee channels of which 19 of them are quoted the rate Rs 19 each.

Sony Pictures � it has 25 pay channels with average rate per channel as Rs 12.

Sun � It provides a total of 33 channels at the average rate per channel to be Rs 11.

There are a number of other broadcasting companies such as

Times Group
Turner
Discovery
TV18 news
Zee news
And NDTV all of which have rates very lower than their channels.

For Times Group, the average rate quoted is Rs per month for all of its 11 channels. The rate for Turner is Rs 6.4 per month, and for National Geographic and Discovery channels, the rate is too low at Rs 3 per channel. There is a total number of 13 channels with the Discovery all of which are available at Rs 36 (for which users should get subscribed individually). Discovery is notably offering the cheapest range of channels. There are 9 pay channels with the National Geographic, to note.

On the whole counts

There are 800 plus TV channels being telecast across India out of which 332 of them have got their prices fixed. So, it is assumed that the remaining of the 470 channels will be available for view for Free-to-air or FIA. As far as the 332 pay channels are concerned, 232 of them are transmitted in standard definition and a hundred of them are available in High Definition.

In the 232 SD channels, 57 of them are rated more than Rs 10 and the others (about 175 channels) are priced lesser than Rs 9. Most of the (almost 75 percent) SD channels are quoted the rate Rs 2 per month or even lesser. Here is the list of free & paid TV channels with its monthly price.
