Gandhi Mandapam to be spruced up

Gandhi Mandapam on Sardar Patel Road will get a much needed facelift, says the citys Public Works Department. A sum of Rs. 11.61 crores has been set aside for the project. Opened as a memorial for Mahatma Gandhi in 1956, the complex also has memorials for Kamaraj, Bhaktvatsalam and Rajaji.
According to a PWD official, We plan to erect water fountains around the complex. Two small ponds would also be created.
