The online counselling sessions for admission to the engineering courses commences today (Wednesday, 25th July).
For the 10000 candidates participating in the 1st Phase of online counselling, a time period of 2 days has been given to choose their preferred subject.
Th online counselling is being conducted for admission to the various engineering courses of B. E. or B. Tech. offered by the engineering colleges affiliated to Anna University.
It may be noted that the counselling starts after encountering various difficulties on different avenues. The online counselling is for the 1.76 Lakhs seats available.
The counselling will be conducted in 5 Phases. In the 1st Phase, the counselling is for 10000 candidates who have scored the cut-off marks of up to 190 when they can choose their preferred subject.
The online counselling is scheduled to start at 12.00 midnight on the website
https://www.tnea.ac.in. The participants have 3 days� time to decide on their preferred subject and college to register the same. The candidates must complete their registration before 5.30 PM on Friday, 27th July and lock their respective internet pages. In case the candidates fail to lock the page, the preferred will get registered on the website automatically. Please note that once this gets locked, no more changes will be possible.
A candidate is free to select any number of preferred subject/colleges as the priority list. However, the seats will be allotted as per the available vacant in the college and subjected indicated as the top priority by the candidate.
So, the candidates must be careful while recording the proper priority of their preferred subject and college. The candidates can choose them based on the cut-off marks scored by them.
The statistical data of the seats allotted by the different colleges on different subjects by the engineering colleges have been uploaded on the official website of Anna University. The candidates, in their residences, along with their parents, and their consultancy, can choose and register their preferred subject and college within the 3 days as referred above.
The candidates who do not have computers or internet facility can visit the nearest help-centre set up by Anna University and do the registration in an easy and quick way within the time stipulated as above, The details of the help-centres and their locations have been uploaded on the official website of Anna University.
Caution � The candidates are strongly advised by the officials of the admission committee not to use the computers in the private colleges or computers in coaching centres or private browsing centres. Similarly, the students are strictly advised not to share their Log-in details or the User code number (password number) with other unknown people or other institutions. This is because there is a risk of the change carried out in the preferred subject/college.
