Nursery admissions in May for Matriculation schools

LKG admissions in Matriculation schools across the State will now conduct admissions in the month of May. The order, passed by the School Education Dept., comes in the wake of complaints that schools collect massive capitation fees and parents put a lot of pressure on officials for admissions.
An official in the Directorate of Matriculation Schools said, �We had been hearing about instances of schools collecting capitation fee, and putting pressure on officials to recommend their child`s name for admission in a particular school. This could also disturb the academic calendar, with admissions taking place alongside the board exams. We want the admission dates to be uniform.�
