In Chennai, first ever International Rail Coach Expo has started now

Established in the year 1952, Indian owned ICF or Integral Coach Factory is a rail coach manufacturer based in Chennai. This ICF has been manufacturing coaches mainly for Indian Railways is known. ICF also exports coaches to foreign nations and has been doing it superbly. It is superb to mention that a regional railway museum is situated inside the premises of ICF factory.
This ICF is now making sensational news. On Thursday, 17th May 2018, ICF kick started the first ever International Rail Coach Expo or IRCE. All roads would lead to RPF Parade ground in Perambur where this expo would be held for a period of 3 days. For this expo ICF has joined hands with CII and RITES Ltd. This expo was inaugurated by the Governor of TN, Mr. Banwarilal Purohit.
Governor later expressed his thoughts about this three day expo and said Indian Railways would be part of nation building. He further threw light on the fact that Indian Railways would play huge role in enhancing welfare plus it would promote job opportunities, economic activities etc. He later appreciated how the Indian railways grew amazingly from just 14 coaches to 70,927 coaches.
Mr. Ashwani Lohani who is chairman of railway board spoke about how Indian Railways is concerned about the passenger�s experience and is doing its best to enhance this.
Mr. S. Mani, general manager of ICF expressed his views and spoke proudly about how till now ICF has manufactured as many as 57000 coaches and how 80 % of rail coaches running in India were manufactured by ICF. Delegations from as many as 10 countries such as Switzerland, Germany and China etc made their presence felt at this expo yesterday. There were nearly 82 exhibitors in this first ever expo. There were stalls from other coach manufacturing units like Modern Coach Factory and Rail Coach Factory in this coach expo. According to the organisers, public sector units like RITES and BEML have grabbed attention of many in this expo. The public could visit this coach expo on Friday between 3pm to 6 pm in the evening and that is a superb piece of information.
