150 Special buses to Palani on the Panguni Uthiram occasion

As per the Hindu tradition, Lord Muruga is known as Tamil God and one of the most popular Gods. There are 6 temples dedicated to Lord Muruga which are popularly known and worshipped as the �Aaru padai veedugal� of the Lord Muruga.

One of the 6 temples, located in Palani, is an extremely popular destination for the devotees of Lord Muruga. As a tradition, the occasion of Panguni Uthiram is celebrated in a grand manner every year in Palani.

The chariot procession of the deity of Lord Muruga on the occasion of Panguni Uthiram is scheduled on 30th March.

After 12.45 PM, the deity of Lord Muruga will be taken to the pedestal inside the chariot. At 4.45 PM, the devotees will catch hold of the strong ropes attached to the chariot and move it.

At 9.00 PM, the occasion of the Lord Muruga seeing the Chariot while being carried on an ivory palanquin.

The special festival flag hoisted for the occasion of Panguni Uthiram will be taken off on 2nd April marking the conclusion of the festival.

For this special annual occasion of the Panguni Uthiram festival in Palani, 150 special buses are being organized from various parts of Tamil Nadu to Palani. The buses are scheduled to be operated from 29th March to 31st March.
