HIV is said to be world famous death penalty for the infested persons all around the world. Mayor Saidai Duraisamy Speaking at an awareness campaign organised at the Marina by Loyola FM.
He said such campaigns were vital in spreading the message that HIV positive persons were also normal human beings. He added that HIV was something that could be avoided if proper precautions were undertaken. Mayor said one of the major reasons for the deteriorating health status of youngsters in the current society was flawed food habits. He said a healthy diet would weed out most of the lifestyle diseases that are spreading now. �This is why our elders said food is medicine. 100 students from Loyola College, wearing masks with the red ribbon, participated in the campaign near the Gandhi statue.
