CM, Deputy CM of TN and Rajinikanth extend support to Rally for Rivers

Spiritual Leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev of Isha Foundation has initiated a campaign called �Rally for Rivers�. To this, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam, and Kollywood star �Superstar� Rajinikanth have extended their support today.
Sadhguru�s foundation had organized a function for the same. Addressing the gathering, CM of Tamil Nadu said his government has been consistently insisting upon inter-linking of rivers. As a result, the Centre has proposed a law towards interlinking of rivers to the Parliament. This event saw the presence of Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Prathap C Reddy, actress Suhasini, Carnatic singer Sudha Raghunathan, and a number of other leaders holding placards with �Rally for Rivers� placards.
In case, if Isha Foundation members step towards planting trees along riverbanks, the state government will ensure its support and cooperation, said Palaniswami. He also pleaded for everyone�s support and cooperation towards the victory in this initiative.
Furthermore, he stated that check dams are likely to be constructed in 3 years down the line at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore. Measures are also taken for planting over 7 crore saplings in forest lands.
In the year 2016-17, over 1,519 projects will be launched at Rs 100 crore expense.
