A special schedule of activities to include all the eligible voters in the voters` ID list, addition, deletion, correction of details will be taken up from 1st July to 31st July.
A brief on the press release by the Tamil Nadu Election Commissioner Rajesh Lakhani in this regard:
Indian Election Commission has ordered that a special activity taking up the inclusion of the maximum number of eligible voters in the final voters` ID list and also to carry out all the necessary addition, deletion, correction. The election commission has emphasised on the motto No eligible voter should be excluded.
The Election Commission has insisted that this time schedule must be utilised maximum to include all eligible voters, especially those in the age group 18-19.
This special activity schedule will conclude on 31st July. During this period, the voters can fill up the necessary forms and submit on the registration offices. The applications can also be sent by post. The website
www.elections.tn.gov.in can also be used. It can be sent through the e-service centres as well.
Further, special voter ID list camps are being organised on 9th and 23rd July. During the camp, the officials in the various booths will receive the filled up voter ID forms.
Deletion from the list is also a major part of the activity, especially the removal of names of dead persons. The death registration information will be checked and confirmed and then the names will be removed.
The public is requested to make the best use of the special activity schedule as well as the special camps to confirm and correct their Voter ID data.
