IRCTC introduces luxury circuit of Maharajas Express

Here comes Southern Jewels from the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation better known as IRCTC. This will get started on 1st of July as a luxury circuit to IRCTC�s flagship Maharajas Express.
This train will travel across places including Southern and Western parts of the country covering Chettinad, Mysore, Mahabalipuram, Hampi and Goa, announced IRCTC officials including L. Ravikumar, additional general manager, S.S Jagannathan, the general manager while addressing a press conference yesterday.
During the monsoon, the domestic population requires such a train facility. This train will precisely cater to it. From September, regular trips will begin.
It was in 2010 that the Maharajas Express was launched. Now, two circuits called the Southern Jewel and Southern Sojourn are now getting launched.
On July 1, the Southern Jewels will start its service from Thiruvananthapuram. Its destination is Mumbai after a long journey of 8 days and 7 nights.
In each of the destination, abroad guests shall be taken for sightseeing encompassing varied culture and tradition.
What is included in the 23-coach long Maharajas Express?
It has lounges, restaurants, filtration plants, bars and dining spaces, cabins with bed, etc. This can accommodate about 88 guests at a time.
IRCTC has also announced discounts on twin sharing rooms owing to the monsoon season. This is believed to attract good number of customers.
A part of the entire journey can thus be availed at Rs 33,250 per day per head. The price will be Rs 53,200 on single basis.
