IRCTC introduces a new facility: home delivery of train tickets

IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) has introduced a new facility � home delivery of the booked train tickets.

Indian Railways have been introducing several new features and procedures to provide improved facilities for its passengers. 

Among these initiatives, the already introduced facilities like internet booking of train tickets (Avoiding standing in long queues) and the facility to book through mobile phones through App are worthy of special mention.

In this scenario, IRCTC has now introduced a new facility � Pay-on-delivery.

This facility will be available exclusively to the passengers who book train tickets through IRCTC website or online.
 
In order to avail this facility, the customers have to register their Aadhar card number or PAN card number in IRCTC.

A service charge of Rs. 90 will be collected for tickets worth up to Rs. 5000. A service charge of Rs. 120 will be collected for tickets worth above Rs. 5000.

In case the booking is cancelled before the delivery, the delivery fee will have to be paid along with the cancellation.
