Rajdhani, Shatabdi fares may fall during off seasons

Railways have decided to reduce the ticket fares of Shatabdi, Rajdhani and Duronto when there is decline of passenger traffic.
For the convenience of the passengers who go to their native places for Deepavali, Pongal and Holi, special fare Shatabdi, Rajdhani and Duronto are being operated. Since the festival season is over, there is decline in passenger traffic.
At this juncture to avoid losses in trains like of Shatabdi, Rajdhani and Duronto, it has been decided to reduce the train fares. Railway minister Suresh Prabhu has instructed officials of the traffic department to work on a mechanism to make sure that no berths go empty on these trains.
