Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Rajesh Lakhani informed that it may not be possible to cast vote if the indelible ink is on the left-hand index finger.

The new system of giving an indelible ink impression is in practice in the banks for the persons coming to exchange their old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes.

Following this, The Tamil Nadu State Chief Electoral Office, Mr. Rajesh Lakhani, has informed that it may not be possible for the voters to cast their vote if they already have the indelible ink impression on their left index finger.

Elections are scheduled in the Tamil Nadu State constituencies of Thanjavur, Aravakurichi, and Thiruparankundram day-after-tomorrow (Saturday, 19th November). So, the voters in these constituencies have to be aware about this while exchanging their old currencies to keep their left-hand index finger to be eligible to cast their votes.
