Raffles Interschool Postcard Design Contest 2011

Nowhere is the visual cornucopia of street art more striking than in India, where a continuous gallery of images reflects the country`s rich cultural diversity. Indian Street art is not only a colorful journey through India`s cities, towns, and villages and life, but also a graphic celebration of its creative street culture
 
Keeping alive the vibrancy of Indian Street art Raffles Millennium International, the premium design institution conducted the Interschool Postcard Design Contest. The theme of the competition was �Street Art In India�.
 
Mr Terence Seet. Director, Raffles Millennium International, Chennai said �It was a pleasure witnessing some of the best teenage talents of Tamil Nadu translating Indian street art into posters. At Raffles we believe in nurturing and mentoring natural talent and we have provided the best platform for students in Tamil Nadu to display their artistic skills�
 
More than 700 Students from 10th standard onwards from 30 schools across Tamil Nadu took part in this contest. The best 68 designs was short listed for the grand finals. The final event was vivacious with the finalists awaiting the announcements. Some of the students traveled all the way from Ooty to witness this nail biting finish.  
 
The finals were judged by Ms. Gayathri Deepak, Principal, Gateway International School, Chennai, Nick Lovegrove Programe Director � Raffles Millennium International, Bangalore & Javier Dazza, Faculty � Graphic Design, Raffles Millennium International
 
The top 10 designers got a chance to win special gift hampers, certificates and prizes. The final winner B.P.Bala Dhurgesh from SBOA (Anna nagar) walked away with the latest Apple Ipod.
