IRCTC to renovate 2000 retiring rooms

Retiring rooms in the railway stations will soon be modernized like 3 star hotels by IRCTC.
Presently the retiring rooms in the railway stations are not maintained properly. The passengers also do not bother about this retiring room since it is located in the station and the tariff is also cheaper.
At present, passengers enjoy facilities like AC and non-AC rooms and dormitories with attached and common bathrooms, lockers, food and beverage services in railway guest rooms.
IRCTC has decided to modernize the retiring rooms in the railway stations.
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is set to refurbish at least 2,000 retiring rooms at 600 railway stations across the country. It has invited Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from reputed service providers for maintenance and expansion of retiring rooms and provision of upgraded services to rail passengers. The East Central Railway (ECR) alone has 50 plus retiring rooms.
Several facilities, including television, telephone, air-conditioner, dormitory intercom, alarm, fire fighting and public address systems will be introduced in guestrooms. The IRCTC also intends to install RO water purifier system and Wi-Fi connectivity on all retiring room premises.
