Government to appoint 14377 teachers at all levels

Tamil Nadu School Education Minister C Ve Shanmugam announced the introduction of smart cards for school students. These cards will have all the details of the students and will help them when they relocate to other towns. Government will also convert five government schools as `smart schools`, which will have computerised class rooms, at a cost of Rs 125 crore.

The Minister added that 14,377 new teachers would be appointed soon and Government will spend Rs 42 crore to appoint special teachers/trainers to train students who suffer from Dyslexia. Under NABARD scheme XI, science laboratory, additional classrooms, drinking water and compound wall facilities will be constructed in 236 government higher secondary schools at a cost of Rs 260 crore, in addition to providing internet facility to all panchayat schools middle schools.
