Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned that there are chances of rain today in Tamil Nadu due to convection and south west monsoon rains. South west monsoon rains have intensified in Karnataka, Andhra and Kerala. Because of this there are rains in Tamil Nadu districts adjoining Kerala borders.
Official of Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned: There are chances of rains today in Kovai, Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts because of the southwest monsoon rains. There will be rains in North Tamil Nadu due to convection. As far as Chennai is concerned the sky will be cloudy. There will be rains in one or two places. Gale winds speed reaching 45-55 kmph would prevail along and off North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts. Hence fishermen are warned not to venture in to the seas.
