
The police have arrested suspected killer of Infosys techie S. Swathi. On Friday, they made a major breakthrough in the case when they nabbed 22 year old Ramkumar in Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking about this, a senior police officer said, The accused Ramkumar, a 22-year-old engineering graduate from Meenakshipuram in Tirunelveli, slit his throat with a sharp object when the police surrounded him. The suspect sustained 60 per cent injury and was rushed to the Government Hospital in Tenkasi where he was given first aid. He was later rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital in Tirunelveli for treatment. Doctors said, The injury was not serious. He is fine and will be shifted to the ICU ward after a minor procedure.
Last Friday, 24 year old Swathi was waiting at Nungambakkam Railway Station�s platform 2 to catch a train to work. The suspect hacked her from behind. Police say that Ramkumar was staying in Choolaimedu in Chennai for a few months. Swathi and her family also live in Choolaimedu. The much covered murder had more than a hundred policemen assigned to the investigations, who sifted through many different pieces of CCTV footage from various sources and questioned hundreds of people.
The policemen focused the search in Choolaimedu, going door to door asking questions. Other teams worked near Swathi�s Infosys office.
