Tamil Nadu: New health insurance scheme Launched
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha has announced new free Medical Insurance Scheme for the people of the state.
The new improved medical insurance cover under which a family can derive a maximum benefit of Rs. four lakh for four years.
The new scheme would cover 950 types of medical treatment as against the previous government`s scheme of 642 types.
Highlights of the scheme :
- One can get treatment for Rs. 1 lakh per year free of cost
- Maximum cover of Rs 4 lakh cover in 4 years.
- Insurance cover for certain treatment Rs. 1.5 lakhs per year.
- Expenses of certain test before and after surgery to be covered under the scheme
