Sun Pictures COO Hansraj Saxena was remanded to two days` police custody on Tuesday by a Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Saidapet in connection with a cheating case.
Saxena was arrested on Sunday following a complaint lodged by T.S. Selvaraj, a film producer, that the former had cheated him of Rs. 82.53 lakh over distribution rights for screening of Tamil flick Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai in Salem. The complainant also alleged that Saxena had threatened him and acquired his signature on a blank paper.
Saxena was produced at the 23rd Magistrate Court on Tuesday morning where his bail petition was heard.
D. Gopinath, APP sought five days police custody for Mr. Saxena, saying that documents pertaining to the case have to be recovered by the investigating officer.
After arguments, the Magistrate granted two days` police custody to Mr. Saxena ending at 4.15 p.m. on July 7.
