Chithralaya Gopu, who gave Tamil cinema evergreen comedies such as Kadhalikka Neramillai, Galatta Kalyanam and Utharavindri Ullae Va, celebrated his 80th birthday here on June 30.
A sathabhishekam was held to mark the occasion. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa, felicitated the writer-director in a letter, wishing him �many more happy and healthy years.�
Members of the film fraternity such as actors Sivakumar, Kamal Haasan with Gowthami, Saroja Devi, political analyst Cho, lyricist Vaali, director CV Rajendran, Santhana Barathi, Gemini Ganesan�s daughter Kamala Ganesan and writer Indira Soundarajan were participated and wished the veteran play writer.
