City to see cooler nights in the coming days, say experts

Temperatures in Chennai have been cool in the city as it recovers from unprecedented rains and floods last month. Chennaiites are feeling the chill in the air after sunset. Temperatures have averaged at 31 degrees Celsius during the day and 21 degrees Celsius in the nights. 

Experts say that they expect the temperature to drop below 20 degrees Celsius in the coming nights. `relatively warmer sea, becomes weaker and the land breeze circulation becomes stronger. Until the early 90`s, the total number of days when the temperature fell to below 20 degrees Celsius stood at around 12. The number of cold days started falling gradually.
