Full fare in trains for children

Railways has now decided to collect full adult fare for children aged between 5 and 12 who want a berth or a seat in the reserved coach. The Railway Board in a circular has mentioned that in case of children aged 5 years and under 12 years of age for whom full berth/seat (in
reserved class) is sought at the time of reservation, full adult fare for such child will be charged. Half charges will continue for children in unreserved coaches and also for the children who do not seek reserved berths or seats. This will come in to effect from 1st April 2016.
