5G Wi-Fi facility introduced at Coimbatore Airport!

5G Wi-Fi Service has been inaugurated at Coimbatore Airport.
International flights to Singapore and Sharjah and other domestic flights to major points operated from Coimbatore Peelamedu International Airport.
Thousands of passengers enter and leave Coimbatore every day. Activities were under progress to introduce Wi-Fi facility at this airport. This has been completed and the inaugural function of introduction of Wi-Fi in the airport was organised yesterday, Monday, 26th October.
The secretary of Central Aviation Traffic Commission Mr. Chowbey participated on the occasion and inaugurated the facility.
Managing Director of South India Aiports, Mr. N Murthy, Director of Coimbatore Airport, Mr. Prakash Redyy, BSNL Executive Mr. Sivaraj, and Deputy Collector of Central Industrial Security Force Mr. Ashish Kumar participated in the function.
Wi-Fi Facility has been introduced for the first time using the latest technology in an airport with the joint efforts of BSNL. More than 400 customers can use this facility at the same time.
Wi-Fi is free for the first 30 minutes. Charges have been fixed for further usage. At the end of the first free 30 minutes, coupons regarding charges will appear on the screen. It will be for 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 120 minutes, and 24 hours, etc.
The charges for 30 minutes is Rs. 30/-. For 60 minutes, it is Rs. 50/-. For 120 minutes, it is Rs. 90/-. For 24 hours, it is Rs. 150/-.
The time for usage can be selected as per requirement.
After the inauguration, Mr, Chowbey had a session with press reporters. He informed that though Wi-Fi facility is available in other city airports in India, this facility has been installed jointly with BSNL employing the latest technology on 5G mode.
The next phase will be introduction of Wi-Fi at Madurai Airport. In Chennai airport also, high quality Wi-Fi has been provided for the flight passengers facility. Action has been taken on the incidence of frequent falling of roof-slabs in Chennai Airport. Salem has a full-fledged airport. However, there are no flights. Action is being taken to introduce flights to Salem airport shortly.
The expansion project of Coimbatore International Airport is likely to be completed in an year. Then, flights will be operated to more international cities. Equal priority will be given to domestic flights as well. Air-fares also will be reconsidered.
