World Bank Report: Percentage of poor in India reduced!

Though India is considered as a poor country on the basis of its population, the World Bank has reported that India`s percentage of poor is lesser as compared to many other countries.
World Bank has released a report on the number of poor people in the world. The report mentions that as on 2012, India was the country with maximum poor people.
The report informs that though India stands first on the count of poor people based on its population, the percentage of poor people in India is less as compared to many other countries.
With the prevailing poor people percentage of 43% in the low-income countries, the world Bank report observes that India has progressed from very low-income group of countries to medium-income group of countries.
