Steep price rise for Bengal-gram in Chennai!

The price of Bengal-gram has shot up like a rocket in Chennai.
The price of Bengal-gram per bag of 100 kg has shot up from Rs. 13000/- to Rs. 15000/-.
In retail, Bengal-gram is sold at Rs. 165/- per kg.
The main reason for this steep price is the reduction in harvest in the states of Maharashtra, Andhra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
The prices of black-gram per bag of 100 kg is sold at Rs. 15200/- from Rs. 12200/-. In retaial, it is sold at Rs. 170/- per kg. Green-gram price has also shot up to Rs. 125/- per kg.
