Chennai Meteorological centre: Prospects of heavy rains in Chennai next 3 days!

Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there would be wide-spread heavy rains for the next 3 days including some districts.
It has been raining in several places in Tamil Nadu due to the thermal convection formed in the upper layers of atmosphere. It has been particularly raining heavily in Theni district.
Namakkal district Thiruchengodu recorded recorded 10cm of rainfall. Krishnagiri district Royakkottai recorded a rainfall of 8 cm. Theni district Bodinayakanur & periyakulam recorded 7 cm of rainfall. Krishnagiri district Thenkanikottai & Karur district Aravakurichi recorded rainfall of 6 cm.
Chennai Meteorological Centre has forecast wide-spread heavy rains in interior districts of Tamil Nadu. It may rain in a few places in other districts as well.
Chennai will remain cloudy. It may rain in a few places in the city during evening/night.
