7 colours of bedspreads in 7 days in ESI Hospitals: Minister info!

Central Minister of State for Labour welfare & job opportunities, Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya,  informed yesterday (Monday, 21st September) at Chennai that a plan to upgrade all the 214 ESI pharmacies hops performing exceedingly well in Chennai to hospitals.
 
The Minister of State was inspecting and analyzing the performance of the ESI Hospital in K K Nagar, Chennai and the progress on construction projects for new buildings. He had a chat with the press reporters after the inspection.
 
Minister Dattatreya informed that there 40 crore labourers in India unaffiliated to any unions and that there is a plan to distribute Smart Cards for these unaffiliated labourers.
 
The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate this project during January, 2016.  After the inauguration, various activities to the distribution of smart cards for th unaffiliated labourers will commence gradually in all the states.
 
The minister further mentioned that there are 44 Labour Welfare Laws in practice.
 
These will; be simplified and categorized in 4 groups – Labour wages, Labour relations, Labour security, and labour working environment. The activities for amending the laws will be undertaken shortly.
 
Plans are afoot to upgrade all the 214 ESI Medical shops (pharmacies) operating and performing well in Tamil Nadu into high quality hospitals with 6 beds each.
 
Facilities such as Blood purification devices, MRI Scan & CT scan will be installed in all major hospitals throughout India including the ESI Hospitals in K K Nagar, Chennai.
Hospitals having the required space and infrastructure will be upgraded into multi-speciality hospitals.
 
Currently white bed-spreads and pillow-covers are being used in ESI Hospitals. As a step to improve the degree of hygiene & health, there is a plan to start using 7 colours (like rainbow)  of bed-linen during the 7 days of the week.
 
Indian Medical Council has granted approval to open a medical college in the Chennai KK Nagar ESI Hospital area. 80 associated plots have been handed over to the Tamil Nadu state government.
 
The construction project for Coimbatore ESI Medical College is almost complete. The college has already been handed over to the state government.
 
When the balance construction activities get completed, the central & state governments will enter into a joint pact after which the admission of students for medical courses will commence.
