Houses for low-income groups in 8 districts including Chennai: CM announcement

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had announced various housing schemes for the low-income group people in the assembly. CM announced that a central square would be opened in Chennai.
While making several announcements under Law 110 in the Assembly, the Chief Minister informed that 2500 apartments/houses will be built in Ambattur.
For the benefit of the state government employees of the cadre `C` & `D`, 500 multi-storeyed apartment building would be constructed under the `Own a House` scheme at a cost of Rs. 225 Crores by the Tamil Nadu Housing Board.
Another 2800 housing units are to be constructed by Tamil Nadu Housing Board in many districts including Chennai & Kanchipuram. Under the `House for all` scheme, 12500 housing units will be built for the benefit of the down-trodden society,
A new square will be built in the Chennai Central Railway Station area. A goods truck/vehicles parking will be built in the village of Eranavoor for the Ennore Port.
