TN Minister Udayakumar: Tamil Nadu No. 1 in Aadhar Card distribution

The central and state governments are feverishly engaged in completing the distribution of Aadhar card to every citizen in the country.
Tamil Nadu has accorded the topmost priority to this activity.
Tamil Nadu state Revenue Minister Mr. R P Udhayakumar informed during the debate in revenue grants in the assembly that 5,26,47,075 persons have been given Aadhar cards in Tamil Nadu as on 31st July.
The minister informed further that the population of Tamil Nadu is 7.21 Crores as per the 2011 census. Out of this, 6,74,18,169 persons above 5 years of age had photographs, fingerprints and eye screen formation registered.
As on 31st July, 5,26,47,075 individuals have been given Aadhar cards. Biometric registration has been completed for 83.48% of the population of Tamil Nadu.
