Maggi will soon be back!

Posted on: 10/Sep/2015 10:58:18 AM
Nestle will roll out Maggi Noodles into the market by the end of this year, as the production is likely to begin in October. Nestle`s Maggi noodles was complained to contain unsafe levels of lead and banned claiming it as the worst packaged food!

Following this, the product was completely recalled from the market and Nestle had to bear with 66 million Swiss Francs ($67.42 million).

During August, there was a statement given in favor of Maggi overturning the Maggi noodle ban. Despite this, the noodle had to undergo varied tests to ensure safety of consumption and after all these, the snack will enter the market once again.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India was also questioned by the court about testing the quality standards of the snack. The newly appointed head of Nestle Indian Operations, Suresh Narayanan says this comeback of the noodle is of their top priority. This stands fourth in their business, he added.

Currently, fresh tests are to be performed on the noodle brand at laboratories as appointed by the court. This is likely to take place in the early days of October following which the manufacture can begin. This will be followed by few more tests after which sales can begin.

Opening up about regaining its position in the market, Narayanan said he has no magic wand in his hand and that the process of regaining its position in the market is truly a climb up. After the noodle recall, Nestle India faced a complete fall.

A 24/7 consumer helpline is being planned by Narayanan and the brand will be more active on social media. Links with thousands of suppliers and owners need to be restored across 4 million stores widespread in India, he added.
