6% rise in Dearness Allowance for Central Government employees

Dearness Allowance for central government employees is increased twice in a year.
The first revision of DA for this year was given in April.A 6% rise was given.
The 2nd revision for this year was announced today (Wednesday, 9th September) for the central government employees.
Central cabinet ministers` meeting was conducted today. In this meeting, approval was granted to raise the DA (Dearness Allowance) for all central government employees and pensioners by 6%.
DA for the central government employees has been increased from 113% to 119%.
This rise will be effective from 1st July with retrospective effect.
With this increase in DA, 48 lakhs central government employees and 55 lakhs pensioners will benefit.
