Agriculture schemes announced

Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister R. Vaithilingam has announced a scheme for creating model vegetable villages. The Rs. 5 crore scheme was one of others that Mr. Vaithilingam announced. The others are the micro nutrients mixture scheme for Rs. 2.30 crore and the Rs. 1.65 crore scheme for promoting agriculture. The former will increase millet production in the State. Millet`s are known for nutritional value.
Mr. Vaithilingam said, `Model vegetable villages would be set up in 22 districts. The technical guidance will be provided by Tamil Nadu Agriculture University and Horticulture Department.`
