15,000 LPG connections blocked by oil companies

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. have blocked around 15,000 LPG connections in the State of consumers who had multiple gas connections. The LPG control order, 2000 and its amendment of the Government of India permits one LPG cooking gas connection to a household and restricts possession of more than one connection of LPG by a household under the public distribution system.
Officials of the oil companies say, The bank account numbers and Aadhar numbers that have been linked to the LPG IDs are being compared and if the same bank accounts or Aadhar cards have been given for two connections, they are blocked.
