Satellite named after late former president Dr. Abdul Kalam

As a step for honouring the recently departed former president Dr. Abdul Kalam, a satellite to be launched by the international agency CANEUS would be named UN KALAM Globalsat.
One of the projects given importance by the departed former president Dr. Abdul Kalam was to launch a special separate satellite in a joint effort by different countries in the world to obtain data for research about planet earth and prior warning about huge natural disasters,
In an effort to implement this, the space agency CANEUS (joint operation by Canada, Europe and US) is set to launch a satellite shortly.
CANEUS Head Mr. Milind Pimprikar informed that the satellite would be named after late Dr. Abdul Kalam as a step to honour the departed former president.
CANEUS has informed that the project for the launch of the satellite will commence from the next year.
