There are too many cases of credit card misuse. Yes, there are handy and very convenient. But a credit card comes with responsibilities as well. Here are a few ways to prevent misuse of your card.
A bank will never ask for personal details over an email. Do not give your details in case you receive one such email. Criminals are adept in making the emails look very official, do not be fooled.
While using your credit card online, make sure that the website is an authorised one. Look out for the �http� in the web address. Also make sure the payment gateway is a well known one. Also, make purchases only with reputable retailers. The payment gateway will ask for CVV and expiry date of the card, but never your PIN.
Many people write down their PIN on their credit cards so as to remember them when needed. This is a big no no. A PIN is a secure password that no one else but you must know.
Scan your credit card statements thoroughly. Make sure you are aware of all transactions. If you come across an unauthorised transaction, contact the bank immediately.
Make sure you receive your new card within the stipulated period of time. If there is a delay, contact your bank immediately. It is very possible that the card may have fallen into the wrong hands.
