Facebook will soon introduce an e commerce option. The Buy button is being tested by a few stores on the social platform. If successful, Facebook users will be able to buy products without leaving the website. The new initiative will help e-shops and prospective buyers connect directly on the platform.
Currently, Facebooks revenue largely depends on the advertisers on its website. This revenue will increase manifold if the new Buy button works out.
The move comes in the wake of a large number of social media platforms introducing e-commerce options, like Twitters in - tweet purchasing and Pinterests Buyable pins. Google has also introduced the option of buying directly from its Google search page. The market share forecast of social buying is said to be $350 billion this year alone.
