Username - password method to be obsolete soon

According to a new study, the old method of using a username and password to protect security on the Internet will soon become obsolete. Internet users are looking for new methods of security such as biometrics. Fingerprint recognition is slowly becoming a popular method.
The study was conducted by tech major Accenture. They surveyed 24000 people around the world. The study showed that 77 per cent of the group were interested in using alternate methods of protection. 92 per cent of people surveyed from China and 84 per cent of people from India felt that a username and password did not give them enough security on the Internet.
�Consumers are increasingly frustrated with these traditional methods because they are becoming less reliable for protecting their personal data. As hackers use more-sophisticated and less-obvious methods, passwords are no longer seen as the definitive answers to the security question�, said an official from Accenture.
