Future of Microsoft depends on its apps

Future of the giant Microsoft is likely to depend on how abled the software makers are in creating apps for the Windows 10 phone version after the failure of acquiring Nokia that led to 7800 layoffs.

Microsoft now needs an all new approach as the purchase of Nokia in the year 2013 bought for a sum of $7.2 billion is never going to help reap huge sums. Microsoft will also write down about its investment of $7.6 billion towards its Nokia business. These indicate that there will be increased focus on mobile phones in its Windows 10 software release which is likely to be launched in late days of July, instead of focusing on smartphones, say analysts. These applications will be compatible to desktop, tablets, and phones as well.

The company believes that the popularity that will be gained by the Windows desktop version will induce more interest on the mobile version of Windows which will increase the overall sales of phones. According to Forrester analyst J.P. Gownder, focusing on the mobile strategy is the best way to possibly focus now.

It is to be noted that Microsoft will layoff about 18000 jobs soon.
