State Government employees need not present no objection certificate while applying for passports
As per the recent notification of the Regional Passport Office, Government servants, employees of PSUs and autonomous bodies can submit a prior intimation letter along with their passport applications in lieu of a No-Objection Certificate. This is to enable quick issuance of passports on a pre-police verification basis.
This prior intimation letter will be forwarded to the controlling/administrative authority (mentioned by the applicant with telephone number, fax number and e-mail Id of the authority), to confirm whether government department officer has any objection regarding the issuance of passport to the applicant.
