IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) has procured 5 latest servers from Singapore to facilitate faster issue of �e-tickets� for the benefit of the passengers.
There is a trend of phenomenal �every-day� increase in the number passengers travelling by train. Hence, it has become quite difficult to get a ticket reserved in advance. Passengers undergo severe hardships especially during the festival seasons and weekends while trying to procure train tickets.
Even the recently introduced �Tatkal system� with additional fares is difficult to get.
The main reason for this attributed to the servers being very slow. In order to overcome this problem, IRCTC has now procured 5 servers of latest technology and high speed from Singapore.
IRCTC Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. A K Manocha informed this.
