Password hacking, hacking of data, etc are some of the instances we are commonly prone to in this ever-increasing online trend. Electronic Frontier Foundation analyzed the level of privacy made available by the online sites and annual reports are announced routinely.

All the social media sites and telecom are rated based on 5 main aspects:

Best practices as accepted by industries

How far are the details disclosed as per government demands

How far are the policies on data retention are disclosed

Transparency in disclosing content removal requests by government

         How far it opposes backdoors

According to the report, WhatsApp has scored just 1 upon 5 in online privacy data. The digital rights are considered as the main point of focus. It doesnt provide any transparency report about any request it receives; neither does it keep its users informed of the government data requests, say reports. Further, it also fails to be open in sharing data retention policies. However, the reports by EFF states that all government officials are allowed to gather user data and opposes backdoors.

This is an alarming information about WhatsApp which certainly needs attention by all its users.
