5.5 Lakh persons surrender LPG cooking gas subsidy!

So far, 5.5 Lakh persons have voluntarily given up the LPG cooking gas subsidy availed by them so far.
This information was disclosed by the Central government Minister for Petroleum, Dharmendra Pradhan.
Prime Minister started the campaign advising all affordable citizens to give up the subsidy on LPG cooking gas cylinders 3 months ago.
There are 15.30 Crore customers for LPG cooking gas cylinders in India. Around 0.35% have now given up the subsidy facility.
An official from the Ministry of Petroleum informed that the campaign for affordable public to give up the subsidy for LPG cooking gas cylinders has not been very successful and even the ruling party MPs have continued to avail this facility.
The minister informed that the central government has planned to reduce the subsidy for petroleum products this financial year from Rs. 60000 Crores to Rs. 30000 Crores.
