Based on the marks obtained in the important subjects of Plus 2 examinations, the cut-off marks will be determined. This year it is estimated that the cut off mark will be reduced by 0.5 for MBBS seats and in the case of BE seats the cut off marks will be increased by 0.75. This cut off marks was determined after comparing with last year cut off marks.

The cut off marks for MBBS is determined taking into account of the marks of biology, physics and chemistry obtained in Plus 2. This year many students did not score 200/200 in the three subjects like last year and hence the cut off mark for MBBS will come down by 0.5.

This year 9,710 students have scored 200/200 marks in mathematics paving the way to BE seats. This did not happen on the last 10 years. It is seen that 15,000 students have scored 198/200 in mathematics. Though they have scored less marks in other important subjects, the maths have given them a helping hand. In view of the foregoing the cut off marks for BE seats will be increased by 0.25.
